Hello,

Just for the Health of It is coming back in February (10-14.02)

And guess what? Next month will be an exciting culinary journey through Asia! 🌏🍜

Asia, the largest and most diverse continent, is a treasure trove of culinary delights. Its cuisine is a vibrant tapestry woven from a rich history, diverse cultures, and unique ingredients. From the spicy curries of India to the delicate sushi of Japan, Asian cuisine offers a wide array of flavors and textures that tantalize the taste buds.

Each region in Asia has its own distinctive cooking styles and traditions. In East Asia, you’ll find the umami-rich dishes of China, Japan, and Korea, often featuring ingredients like soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Southeast Asia is known for its bold and aromatic flavors, with countries like Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia using ingredients such as lemongrass, coconut milk, and chili. South Asia, particularly India, is famous for its complex spice blends and hearty dishes like biryani and curry.

Asian cuisine is not just about the food; it’s also about the experience. Meals are often communal, bringing people together to share and enjoy a variety of dishes. The use of fresh, local ingredients and traditional cooking methods ensures that each meal is a celebration of culture and heritage.

Whether you’re a fan of street food or fine dining, Asian cuisine offers something for everyone. It’s a culinary journey that promises to be as exciting and diverse as the continent itself.

So in February we will have a week of Asian salads in all FCU offices:

  • Monday – CHINA: Kick off the week with a burst of flavors! Chinese noodles, tofu, sesame, carrot, and green peas, all tossed in a mouthwatering peanut sauce (soy sauce, olive oil, peanut butter, ginger, chili… yum!).
  • Tuesday – JAPAN: Dive into a refreshing bowl of Udon noodles, tuna, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, sprouts, carrot, and a zesty lemon twist. Drizzle with Ponzu soy sauce, mayo, and a touch of oil for that perfect balance.
  • Wednesday – INDIA: Spice things up midweek with potato wedges, cherry tomatoes, onion, chickpeas, cucumber, and sweet raisins. All brought together with a creamy Greek yogurt sauce (honey, curry, wine vinegar, salt).
  • Thursday – VIETNAM: Travel to Vietnam with a vibrant mix of lettuce, cucumber, mung bean sprouts, peanuts, coconut, and corn. The sweet mango sauce (oil, wine vinegar, mustard) will make your taste buds dance!
  • Friday – THAILAND: End the week on a high note with a Thai-inspired salad. Lettuce, grilled chicken, pineapple, cucumber, edamame beans, carrot, and peanuts, all dressed in a tangy sauce (olive oil, lemon, honey, garlic, chili, salt).

These salads sound like a really delicious adventure! Which one are you most excited to try?
